FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: crane is proposed. Crane comprises boom, gripper, overload protection device. Overload protection device comprises facilities for identification of overhang and load on gripper and is intended to equalize the detected load and the detected flight from the load diagram entered into the memory unit and to disconnect and/or decelerate crane drive operation when size of load diagram is exceeded. Besides, control device is provided to control overload protection device, proposed device comprises means to define retaining boom and/or tension force generated in boom. Control device is provided for determining moment (FG+S × IG+S + F*G+S × IFJ) load on the basis of recognized departure (IG+S, IFJ) and recognized load (FG+S, F*G+S), characterized in that the control device is intended to determine in online mode during crane operation based on certain torque force (FN) moment (FN × IN), with auxiliary attraction of crane data recorded in memory determine moment (FA × IA) of own weight, equalize the sum of said moment (FG+S × IG+S + F*G+S × IFJ) of cargo and said moment (FA × IA) of own mass with torque (FN × IN), tension and then, if the deviation of the tension moment consisting of the sum of the moment of the load and the moment of own weight exceeds the threshold, it may generate an error signal or an interruption signal. Invention covers also the control method of crane overload protection device.
