FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to benches for training vehicle control on-site in order to develop taxiing to obtain initial skill and skill required in critical situations. Method of training on-site steering involves installation in a safe place of training devices for steering in situ, one for each controlled wheel, driving on said devices, installation of wheel chocks under uncontrolled wheels, development of taxiing methods with operating and idle engine, exit from devices for training taxiing in place. Proposed training device comprises upper and lower base support plates and ball bearing arranged there between and fixed on each of them so that to be located between them in their central part. At the same time upper plate-base has shape of tire contact spot with support surface.

EFFECT: higher level of preparation for taxiing.
