METHOD OF PROCESSING TECHNICALLY PURE TITANIUM BY HIGH PLASTIC DEFORMATION Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC C22F1/18 B21J5/00 B82B3/00

Abstract RU 2709416 C1

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of nanostructured technically pure titanium with improved mechanical and corrosion properties and method of its processing and can be used in various fields of engineering, including in chemical industry. Method of treating technically pure titanium involves high plastic deformation by twisting under high hydrostatic pressure of not less than 6 GPa at room temperature. Deformation is performed at two rpm to produce nanostructure of pure titanium consisting of 80–85 % of alpha-phase with average size of 50–60 nm and 15–20 % of omega-phase. Deformation is carried out in a Bridgman chamber.

EFFECT: obtaining technically pure titanium with high microhardness and corrosion resistance: positive stationary potential, high susceptibility to passivation in anode polarization.
