FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: device relates to measurement equipment for physical research of fluid properties. Device allows measuring surface tension of chemically aggressive melts of refractory substances with high (above 0.1 MPa) pressure of own vapors above the liquid phase, which are in an inert atmosphere. Measurement error caused by the effect of convective vapor carryover from the surface of the formed melt drop is reduced. Proposed device comprises graphite stalagmometer with capillary and rod, drops receiver, heater, current leads, heat-insulating sheath of thermostat and high-pressure vessel wherein stalagmometer consists of case, partition with capillary channel and cover, and drops receiver is bottom of stalagmometer housing.

EFFECT: reduced effect of convective vapor carryover from the surface of formed drops on results of measurements of surface tension of melts.
