FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a zoned base. Catalytic article has flow-through base, zone of selective catalytic reduction, oxidation zone and oxidation zone of diesel fuel or mixed zone from catalyst preventing ammonia breakthrough. Zone of selective catalytic reduction is located on base starting from inlet end and stretched at distance less than axial length of base from inlet hole. Diesel fuel oxidation catalyst zone or zone of mixed catalyst and oxidation catalyst of diesel fuel is located on base starting from outlet side and when there is zone of oxidation catalyst of diesel fuel. Zone of catalyst preventing ammonia breakthrough is located between zone of selective catalytic reduction and zone of oxidation catalyst of diesel fuel. In other catalyst articles, the catalyst zone preventing ammonia breakthrough further comprises a diesel exothermic catalyst. Methods of using catalytic articles in selective catalytic reduction are also described.
EFFECT: invention provides combined activity of a catalyst for selective catalytic reduction, a catalyst which prevents ammonia breakthrough, and a catalyst for oxidising diesel fuel or a diesel exothermic catalyst.
