FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to a wound healing and haemostatic agent based on chitosan made of chitosan fibers. Facility has the shape of spherical particles with specific surface area from 200 to 600 m2/g, porosity from 95 to 99 % with combination of mesopores 1–20 nm to 1–2 cm3/g and macropore with size of more than 50 nm to 20–30 cm3/g. What is also presented is a method for preparing said chitosan-based agent.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides creating a highly effective wound healing and haemostatic agent based on chitosan, having biocompatibility with human tissues, absence of cytotoxicity, ease of removal from the wound surface without causing additional damages, possibility of activating active substances from the group of anesthetics, antiseptics and antibiotics.
