SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a hemostatic agent based on chitosan, during which a chitosan solution is prepared for impregnation of a non-woven material, after which a continuous impregnation process is performed followed by gelation, in which the non-woven material first passes through a bath with a solution chitosan, then through a bath with a gelling agent, after which the resulting material is washed from unreacted compounds, the aqueous solvent is replaced with isopropyl alcohol, and the isopropyl alcohol in the resulting material is extracted with liquid carbon dioxide under excess pressure.

EFFECT: increasing the effectiveness of the hemostatic agent by increasing the amount of chitosan in the finished product, using the original nonwoven material with a wider range of characteristics in thickness, surface density and composition, modifying the structure of the hemostatic agent, as well as increasing the density of the finished product compared to the original non-woven material.
