FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an exhaust system for a diesel engine, which includes an oxidation catalyst for treating exhaust gases from a diesel engine and a device for monitoring toxicity of exhaust gases, wherein said oxidation catalyst contains: first porous oxide coating area for oxidising carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC), wherein the porous oxide first coating region comprises a first platinum group metal (PGM) and a first carrier material, and where first coating area does not contain manganese or oxide thereof; second coating area of porous oxide for oxidation of nitrogen oxide (NO), where region of second coating from porous oxide contains platinum (Pt), manganese (Mn) and a second support material comprising a refractory metal oxide which is silicon dioxide-aluminium oxide or aluminium oxide doped with silicon dioxide, where platinum (Pt) is placed on a second carrier material or deposited on a second support material and manganese (Mn) is placed on a second carrier material or deposited on a second carrier material; and a base having an inlet end and an outlet end, and wherein the first porous oxide coating area is a first porous oxide coating area arranged at the base inlet, and the second porous oxide coating area is a second porous oxide coating area arranged on the base outlet portion such that the second porous oxide coating area is arranged to contact exhaust gases at the base outlet end and after contacting exhaust gases with first coating area of porous oxide. Invention also relates to vehicle and method of treating exhaust gases from diesel engine.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of activity of oxidation of NO or provision of possibility to use reduced amount of Pt to achieve specified level of NO oxidation.
