SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a catalyst for the treatment of exhaust gases formed by engines operating on lean fuel mixtures, comprising: (a) a small pore aluminosilicate molecular sieve material comprising a plurality of crystals having a surface and a porous matrix, having a silica to alumina ratio of about 8 to about 150 and having an average crystal size of about 0.01 to about 10 microns; and b) 0.01 to 10% by weight of at least one platinum group metal (PGM), in which most of said platinum group metal (PGM) is embedded in said porous matrix as compared to the platinum group metal (PGM) disposed on said surface, wherein the small pore molecular sieve material has a framework structure selected from AEI, AFX and CHA, and alkali content of no more than about 5% by weight based on the total weight of the aluminosilicate molecular sieve. Also disclosed is a catalytic article comprising said catalyst and a method for treating exhaust gases.
EFFECT: technical result is a high NOx reduction efficiency at low temperatures, high selectivity with respect to N2 and reduced NH3 slip.
