FIELD: chemistry; transport machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an oxidation catalyst for use as a passive nitrogen oxide absorber NOx when treating exhaust gases from an engine with compression ignition. Said oxidation catalyst comprises: a support which is a flow monolith; first coating area of porous oxide, containing palladium (Pd) in amount of 0.25 to 1.9 wt %, applied directly on cerium oxide as first carrier material; and second coating area of porous oxide, containing platinum (Pt) and a second carrier material, wherein said region of second coating from porous oxide also additionally contains palladium (Pd). Invention also relates to an exhaust system, a vehicle, use of the catalyst as a passive NOx absorber, as well as a method for controlling nitrogen oxide content.
EFFECT: proposed catalyst has favorable oxidative activity to carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons.
