Apparatus for providing services comprises: an input comprising an electrical connector configured to interact with electric contacts on a smoking device with electric control; a controller connected to said input and configured to automatically perform electric testing of the smoking device and to form a test report, or to perform software updating or software-based restart of the electrically operated smoking device, or with the possibility of both preparing a test report, and performing software updating or a smoking device software reset, when the electrically operated smoking device is connected to the input. System comprises multiple data transmitting to central server via communication network. Method describes operation of the apparatus for providing maintenance services for smoking devices with electric control.
