FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electric power industry, namely to rod insulators for overhead transmission lines, electric substations, contact network of railways, public transport. Insulator consists of rod (1), one or several end terminals (2) fixed on rod (1), and organosilicon shell (3). According to the first independent claim rod (1) is made composite of glass and basalt roving, glued together by means of thermosetting plastic binder. According to the second independent claim rod (1) is made composite from basalt roving, glued together by means of thermosetting plastic binder. Rod insulator is characterized by high mechanical and electrical strength, longevity, corrosion, alkaline – and acidic stabilities, as well as stability of state during prolonged trouble-free operation.
EFFECT: high electrical strength of the insulator.
