FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to supporting polymer insulators, which are widely used in overhead transmission lines, switchboards of substations and other power objects. Insulator is made in the form of single insulating part (monoblock), which represents traction rod (1) with flanges (2, 3); as insulating material composite polymer material is used (polyamide). Traction rod (1) has figured cross section (polyhedron, multiprong star, circle, etc.), and in flanges (2, 3) openings (4, 5) are made for connection of insulator to current-conducting buses. On traction rod (1) by method of thermal vulcanisation ring ribs (10) are arranged, made of tracking resistance material. Usage of the present invention allows to significantly simplify and reduce cost of technological process of production of supporting polymer insulators, besides absence of metal terminators gives the possibility to significantly reduce insulator weight and decrease its material intensity.

EFFECT: suggested insulators possess high electric discharge characteristics and are suitable for operation in closed and opened power objects.
