Summary of invention consists in the fact that surface is irradiated with a coherent radiation source, a reflected signal is received, vibration frequency is measured, in a given set of harmonics of the reflected signal, harmonic amplitudes are measured starting from the first, based on the obtained amplitude values, selecting a pair of harmonics and calculating for it the ratio of amplitudes, using which the amplitude of vibration is calculated, wherein amplitude of harmonics is measured in such a set of harmonics of the reflected signal, in which monotonic amplitude decay is established, determining the order of the k-th harmonic, having the largest amplitude Ak, amplitude Ak+2 is selected of the order k+2 order and calculating the ratio Ak+2/Ak, using which vibration amplitude is calculated.

EFFECT: wider range of measured amplitudes of vibration.
