METHOD FOR NEUTRALIZATION OF EMERGENCY EMISSIONS OF GASEOUS CHLORINE AND INSTALLATION FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC B01D53/68 B01D53/18

Abstract RU 2710197 C1

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to neutralization of harmful gases, namely chlorine, and can be used for neutralization of emergency emissions of gaseous chlorine. Method for neutralization of emergency emissions of gaseous chlorine involves supply of chlorine-air mixture into neutralizing alkaline solution, circulation of neutralizing solution by pump, mixing and interaction of two media during ejection at vacuum suction of chlorine-air mixture into flow of neutralizing liquid containing sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and sodium thiosulphate (Na2S2O3). Mixing and interaction of two media is carried out at temperature 35 °C and neutralizing liquid volume equal to 75 % of reservoir volume. At that, at the last stage of neutralizing solution preparation, liquid foam suppresant agent based on polymethylsiloxane in amount of 0.05 wt% is added.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of neutralizing emissions of gaseous chlorine at the moment of accident.
