FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. To obtain HCl from HCl-containing gas stream said HCl-containing gas stream with temperature from -20 °C to 25 °C is fed into adiabatic absorption plant, where it is brought into contact with water taken as an absorbent. At that, head gas flow and water solution of HCl product is formed. Head gas flow temperature is at least 70 °C and not more than 95 °C. Concentration of HCl in water solution of HCl product is in range of 5–20 wt. %. HCl-containing gas stream is obtained as a by-product of the hydrogenation step, on which the feedstock containing monochloroacetic acid (MCA) and dichloracetic acid (DCA), reacts with hydrogen to form an HCl-containing gas stream and a product stream containing MCA and a reduced amount of DCA.
EFFECT: invention reduces content of organic pollutants in HCl-containing gas stream.
