FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: use: to estimate cavitation erosion resistance of alloys, coatings and other materials operating in liquid media by means of ultrasonic vibration for generation of cavitation. Summary of invention consists in the fact that installation includes an ultrasonic generator, a converter and a vibration probe, which carries the sample at its end. A nozzle is placed at distance of 1–3 mm under the test specimen. A liquid is supplied through the nozzle onto the sample surface, which causes cavitation due to ultrasonic vibrations. Fluid is fed into nozzle from pressure tank while discharge control is performed via feedback.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of creating a reliable and easy-to-use installation which ensures stable test results.
