FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to treatment of underground shale formations. Method of inhibiting swelling and dispersion of shales during treatment of underground shale formations includes: a) providing a fluid medium for underground treatment containing 0.2 to 6.0 wt. % of cationic tamarind gum having a degree of substitution by cation (DScat) from 0.01 to 1.0 and viscosity lower than 2000 MPa⋅s when measured on a Brookfield RV viscometer in 4.0 wt. % aqueous solution at 20 rpm and 20 °C; b) introducing said fluid for treatment into a wellbore at pressure sufficient to treat underground shale formations.
EFFECT: technical result is improved inhibition of swelling and dispersion of shales.
