FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing one or more C4 oxygenate compounds selected from threosis, erythrose and erythrulose, and can be used in chemical industry. In disclosed method one or more said C4 oxygenate compounds from composition containing C1-3 oxygenate compounds which are reacted in the presence of a solvent and a crystalline microporous material containing a zeotype material, selected from a group consisting of structures of SNA, LTA, MFI, MEL, MTT, MWW, TON, HEU, AEL, AFO and FER, where crystalline microporous material contains metal selected from one or more of a group consisting of zirconium, aluminium, tin or titanium.
EFFECT: novel efficient method of producing valuable C4 oxygenated compounds with improved selectivity.
