SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the diagnosis of automatic control systems. In the method of searching for faults of a dynamic unit in a continuous system, based on introduction of trial deviations, determining the monitoring time; determining number of control points; vectors of deviations of model signals at discrete instants of time are determined. Test signal is transmitted to control system. Reaction of system with rated characteristics is recorded. Determining the model signals for each of the control points. Deflection of model signals is determined. System with rated characteristics of controlled one is replaced. Signals of the monitored system are determined. Deflections of the signals of the monitored system are determined. Diagnostic indications of the faulty parameter are calculated and the defect parameter is determined by the maximum value of the feature.
EFFECT: reduced computational costs.
