FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment, and can be used, for example, to signal the presence of combustion in afterburner combustion chamber of an air-jet engine. Method of signaling presence of combustion in augmenter combustion chamber of an air-jet engine, which includes registration of radiation from the combustion zone, processing of the received signal and making a decision on presence of combustion. Generated during registration of radiation during engine operation common electric signal is divided into broadband in frequency range 0–5,000 Hz and narrowband, wherein the narrow-band frequency range is selected based on the acoustic and geometric characteristics of the afterburner combustion chamber, selecting in these intervals the average values of signal amplitude amplitudes and comparing them with the reference values obtained before the engine operation for each interval, in case of simultaneous excess of signal oscillation amplitudes above reference values in both frequency ranges conclusion is made on presence of combustion in afterburner.

EFFECT: higher reliability of control over afterburner combustion process.
