FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in fuel supply systems for internal combustion engines (ICE). Disclosed is vehicle power plant, comprising ICE 50 for driving vehicle. ICE 50 comprises combustion chamber 52 with injectors for diesel fuel injection, electrolysis chamber 20 for producing gaseous hydrogen and gaseous oxygen and vacuum pump 25 for pumping gaseous hydrogen and gaseous oxygen from electrolysis chamber 20. Vehicle comprises vehicle 30 for gas formation, in which volatile organic compounds, in particular methanol or ethanol, are converted into gaseous form, as well as supply pipeline 38 for feeding gas mixture into combustion chamber, wherein the gas mixture contains volatile organic compounds converted to gaseous form, as well as at least part of gaseous hydrogen and gaseous oxygen. In power plant there can be used turbocompressor 40 containing compressor 42 and turbine 44, as well as air pump 35 for air supply to gasification tank 30, controlled by control device 10, and filter 60 for cleaning exhaust gases. Also disclosed is a corresponding method of operating a power plant of a vehicle.
EFFECT: invention allows increasing engine efficiency and reducing emissions of harmful substances with exhaust gases.
