FIELD: railways.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the railway rolling stock diagnostics and is intended to control the train brakes exhaustibility. Train brakes exhaustibility monitoring method consists in determination of train braking system parameters by locomotive microprocessor control system. At each braking, overlapping and releasing the brakes, the compressed air pressure in the brake line is determined and, according to the known spare tank filling schedule, its degree of exhaustion is controlled, said determined braking line tightness is used to make the conclusion on partial or complete pressure recovery in the train spare tanks and availability of the braking system for the next braking.
EFFECT: improving safety by preventing situations associated with reduced braking efficiency through timely detection of insufficient filling of spare reservoirs of the train braking system.
