FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of estimating inter-channel time difference. Cross-correlation spectrum for the time unit is calculated from the first channel signal in the time unit and the second channel signal in the time unit. Signal characteristic of the first channel or the second channel signal for the time unit is evaluated. Cross-correlation spectrum is smoothed by using a spectral characteristic to obtain a smoothed cross-correlation spectrum. Smoothed cross-correlation spectrum is processed to obtain inter-channel time difference.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of accuracy of determination of inter-channel difference in time.
