SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to processing audio data and, in particular, to processing an encoded audio scene for the purpose of generating a processed audio scene for rendering, transmission or storage. Apparatus for processing an audio scene, which is a sound field, wherein the audio scene contains information on a transport signal and a first set of parameters. Device comprises a parameter processor for processing a first set of parameters to obtain a second set of parameters, wherein the parameter processor is configured to calculate at least one raw parameter for each output time frame using at least one parameter from the first set of parameters for the input time frame, calculating smoothing information, such as a coefficient for each raw parameter in accordance with a smoothing rule, and applying the corresponding smoothing information to the corresponding raw parameter to extract the parameter from the second set of parameters for the output time frame. Device further comprises an output interface for generating a processed audio scene using a second set of parameters and information on the transport signal.
EFFECT: maintaining minimum total codec delay without deterioration of reproduction quality.
