FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of producing catalysts, in particular catalyst compositions of the Claus process, and can be used in purification of sulfur-containing gases at gas, oil and chemical industries and metallurgy. Set task is solved by means of method for obtaining alumina catalyst for Claus process, including hydration of fraction of powdered aluminum hydroxide, obtained by fast partial dehydration of hydrargillite with subsequent simultaneous micro-grinding to particle size with average particle diameter: 5–15 mcm, 10–25 mcm, 25–45 mcm or 40–55 mcm and mechanochemical activation to obtain wet mass (WM); obtaining semi-product A after drying wet mass (WT) at temperatures of 80–145 °C; obtaining semi-product B after heat treatment of wet mass (WT) at temperatures of 220–390 °C; and to obtain a catalyst, a composition is used consisting of a mixture of wet mass (WM) with aluminum hydroxide powders (semi-product A) and / or aluminum oxide (semi-product B), where the ratio of intermediate products (A):(B):(WM) is (10–50):(1–100):(10–100) parts by weight, the composition is plasticized, molded, dried and calcined at 450–580 °C.
EFFECT: technical result is the development of a package of spherical alumina catalysts for the Claus process, including: a catalyst for the basic Claus process, a catalyst of the support layer, catalyst for process below sulfur dew point with optimized porous structure, high activity and high resistance to deactivation due to sulphation and deposits of hydrocarbons, method of their production and application.
