SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a thermosetting material with a solid surface, as well as to a method for production thereof. Said heat-curable material is obtained from a liquid composition containing at least one polyol, at least one metal-containing catalyst, at least one isocyanate and expandable polymer microspheres. Diameter of the polymer microspheres increases by 2–5 times with respect to the unexpanded state. Polyol is a polyether, a polyester, a polycarbonate-based polyol or a macro-glycol-based polyol. Amount of the polyol ranges from 4 to 20 % by weight relative to the composition.
EFFECT: thermoset material with a solid surface is rigid, opaque or semitransparent and partially expanded, while maintaining solid areas.
