DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE OF COGNITIVE DISORDERS ACCOMPANYING THE NEUROSENSORY HEARING LOSS ASSOCIATED WITH OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE TO AIRCRAFT NOISE Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B5/16

Abstract RU 2712070 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngology, neuropsychology and occupational pathology, and can be used to detect signs of chronic occupational exposure to aircraft noise on workers' body. Neuropsychological examination of the state of higher mental functions is carried out and the following indices are determined: an index of object gnosis by the technique of "recognizing strikethrough and superimposed images", an index of visual gnosis by finger gnosis test (showing a given finger according to the sample and by name), indicator of analytic-synthetic thinking by arithmetic count test, indicator of conceptual thinking by method "selection of opposites in active plan". A discriminant function F is calculated, the obtained result is compared to a constant: if F is more than the constant, the patient is diagnosed with the signs of cognitive dysfunction associated with occupational exposure to aircraft noise, if F is less than or equal to a constant – no signs of cognitive dysfunction associated with occupational exposure to aircraft noise.

EFFECT: method enables the inclusion of patients with sensorineural hearing loss associated with occupational exposure to aircraft noise in the risk group of developing cognitive disorders, reducing volume of paraclinical studies, time and material costs by using the minimum number of the most informative diagnostic indicators.
