SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control of distribution of resources in a network. Method of transmitting sounding reference signals (SRS) in a millimeter wavelength (mmWave) time division duplex (TDD) cellular system comprises: receiving, by user equipment (UE), an SRS configuration message containing an SRS configuration parameter; receiving, by UE, downlink signals from a transmission point (TP) in accordance with beam directions available for the UE, wherein at least one of the downlink signals is a downlink synchronization signal; selecting, by UE from said beam directions, available for UE, a beam direction subset for uplink SRS transmission based on both said SRS configuration parameter and said downlink signals; UE transmits uplink SRS signals to the TP in accordance with beam directions in said beam direction subset.
EFFECT: providing proper selection of UE beams based on reception of downlink synchronization signals from a base station.
