FIELD: wireless communication.

SUBSTANCE: described technical result is achieved by the fact that the wireless apparatus is configured to selectively operate on one of two or more previously configured BWPs, wherein each BWP is a separate subset of the available bandwidth for the uplink and/or downlink operation. The wireless apparatus receives (802) an instruction to switch from using the first BWP to the second BWP, and after switching to using the second BWP applies (804) a predetermined default configuration corresponding to the second BWP to one or several physical layer parameters and/or procedures.

EFFECT: prevention of misalignment between the active bandwidth part (BWP) and the physical layer procedures associated therewith, capable of occurring due to the BWP switching, and the NR productivity maintained at the expected level.
