FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a self-supporting film based on a hyaluronic acid ester and a method for production thereof. Said film comprises C10-C22-acylated hyaluronic acid derivative in accordance with general formula (I),

in which R is H+ or Na+ and in which R1 is H or -C(=O)CxHy, wherein x is an integer in range of 9 to 21, and y is an integer in range of 11 to 43, and CxHy is a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated chain C9-C21, in which in at least one repeating link one or more R1 are -C(=O)CxHy and in which n ranges from 12 to 4000. Film thickness makes 2–100 mcm. Method of producing film involves preparing solution containing C10-C22-acylated hyaluronic acid derivative in accordance with formula (I) in a mixture of water and C1-C6-alcohol, stirring solution and its application on substrate, drying in closed space and removal from substrate.
EFFECT: obtained film is insoluble in aqueous media, is formed only from acylated hyaluronan of general formula (I) without the need to add cross-linking substances and without additional treatment, contains a large amount of dry substance and can be used in medicine and veterinary science, in particular for producing anti-spike barriers.
