FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: flow rate controller for compressed natural gas (CNG) system is formed by a housing having at least one inlet pipe, at least one outlet branch pipe and at least one internal passage connecting hydraulically inlet and outlet nozzles. Mechanical bypass valve is located between the inlet and outlet nozzles and is activated by the movable displaceable element, which moves on the input pressure base, and wherein bypass valve closes only after input pressure exceeds a predetermined threshold value. Flow regulator additionally contains a reservoir for a coolant formed by a serpentine channel formed in a cooling plate, as well as an equalizing valve as a regulator control element in combination with a weighing or loading mechanism having a diaphragm.
EFFECT: bypass valve is fail-safe, wherein gas control does not occur until input pressure becomes sufficient to close the bypass valve.
