FIELD: woodworking industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to woodworking, particularly, to production of modified wood. Impregnation of wood with stabilizer is carried out, drying and pressing. Impregnating solution is prepared by adding of 2–3 % ice-cold 100 %-acetic acid to cardanol to obtain pH 6.3–6.5. Wood billet is impregnated with obtained solution by autoclave method at pressure of 10–15 atm for 10–15 minutes till cardanol content is 6–12 % on dry residue. After that, workpieces are dried under mechanical pressure of 0.8 MPa and temperature of 100–120 °C to moisture content of 6–8 %. After pressing thermal treatment is carried out at temperature 150–155 °C for 8 hours.

EFFECT: higher hydrophobicity, reduced toxicity of modified wood.
