FIELD: woodworking industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the woodworking industry, in particular to the production of treated wood to increase its water resistance. The method for modifying wood includes processing wood by the immersion method in an impregnating solution under normal conditions, followed by heat treatment. In this case, 3% of the mass is used as the impregnating solution. a solution of the previously obtained copolymer of glycidyl methacrylate and selected from the series 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl methacrylate, 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropyl methacrylate; 2,2,3,3,4,4,4-heptafluorobutyl methacrylate derivative of methacrylate in methyl ethyl ketone, with a molar ratio of monomers equal to 1:2, impregnation is carried out for 2 hours, and heat treatment is carried out at 140°C for 2 hours.

EFFECT: process of wood hydrophobization is simplified and its water resistance is increased.
