FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a highly enriched carbon 13C isotope by method of infrared multi-photon dissociation of molecules by pulsed CO2 laser radiation. Method involves irradiation of chlorodifluoromethane CF2HCl molecules with pulse CO2 laser with formation of isotope-enriched 13C tetra-fluoroethylene C2F4 at first dressing stage, conversion of tetrafluoroethylene to difluorodibromomethane CF2Br2 and irradiation of difluorodibromomethane molecules with pulsed CO2 laser radiation at generation frequencies of 1,075–1,088 cm-1 at second dressing stage, wherein 12CF2Br2 molecules are dissociated, and enrichment to desired isotope 13C is achieved in residual gas 13CF2Br2.
EFFECT: invention increases efficiency of the separation process, lowers the prime cost of the end product and enables to achieve concentration of isotope 13C is more than 99 %.
