SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to anaesthesiology and ophthalmology, and can be used for anesthesia in vitreoretinal and episcleral surgery. An retrobulbar block is performed. After the aspiration test, levobupivacaine 0.5 % 4.0 ml with dexmedetomidine – dexdor 0.25 mcg/kg is slowly introduced into the eye muscular cone. Then, 10 minutes after patient's inability to perform eye movement, sideways, upwards, downwards, performing the vitreoretinal intervention according to classical technology through three-port access.

EFFECT: method provides adequate long-term anesthesia, intraoperative sedation with a state of positional comfort without respiratory center depression, creation of conditions for intraoperative haemostasis, reduction of frequency and intensity of postoperative pain, allows to refuse application of narcotic analgesics, to avoid repeated anesthesia in the early postoperative period.
