FIELD: radio equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and is intended, in particular, for use in systems of mobile and fixed communication: land, air, sea in meter and decimeter ranges. Method of constructing an omnidirectional annular antenna array, in which antenna elements (AE) are placed with a fixed phase center such that distance between phase centers of neighboring AE does not exceed half of the shortest wavelength in the operating band, AE is selected electrically as full-size and galvanic connection is made between AE so that AE have common continuous geometrical contour of radiating part are electrically extended and traveling-wave mode is set in them. Antenna comprises AE 1 with fixed phase centers forming an omni-directional antenna array, wherein AE 1 are in-phase-fed, made in the form of double-lead spiral antennas, each AE 1 is galvanically connected to its adjacent end and distance between phase centers AE 1 is not more than half of the smallest wavelength in the operating range. AE 1 can be made in form of concave ellipsoid. Antenna can be equipped with reflector.
EFFECT: providing a wide band of operating frequencies while maintaining efficiency and small overall size.
