SUBSTANCE: invention refers to pharmaceutical industry, namely to the use of an antimicrobial composition for treating or preventing an infection selected from bacterial or fungal infection. Use of the antimicrobial composition for treating or preventing an infection selected from bacterial or fungal infection, containing: at least one garlic extract; and at least one bioflavonoid, wherein the bioflavonoid is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naringenin, naringin, quercetin, rhoifolin and acacetin, where the garlic extract is selected from one or more of allicin or ajoene, and wherein the ratio of concentrations of the extract of garlic and bioflavonoid is 1–16:16–1.
EFFECT: above described antibacterial composition is effective for treating or preventing an infection selected from bacterial or fungal infection.
