FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: present group of inventions relates to electrical engineering and can be used to display alphanumeric information. Technical result is achieved due to the fact that: 1) with a new method of feeding LED display units, an additional power supply source with an adjustable output voltage is input, by changing which, setting the LEDs current of the LED units; 2) device for realizing the method comprises transformer 1, full-wave diode rectifier 2, capacitor 3, first 4 and second 5 sources of stabilized voltage, n (where n ≥ 1 - number of decimal places of multi-bit indicator) seven-segment indicators 6–7 on light-emitting diodes 8 with common anode, n information inputs 9–10, which are information inputs n of decoders 11–12 from binary-coded code to seven-segment code, variable resistor 13.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of electric energy losses.
