FIELD: nuclear physics and equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a fast neutron nuclear reactor with a heavy liquid metal heat carrier. Reactor comprises an active zone located in the cavity of the central part of the housing of the nuclear reactor, and at least one main circulation pump, one steam generator and one baffle arranged in the cavity of the peripheral part of the housing. Baffle is made of two concentric shells forming an annular gap between each other. In lower part of annular gap partition is installed, equipped with holes for passage of heavy liquid metal heat carrier. Steam generator is arranged in cavity formed by baffle.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of starting capacity of main circulation pump due to formation of free level of heat carrier on suction head of main circulation pump, reduced oscillation process when main circulation pump is stopped, creation of thermal resistance (thermal barrier) between the "hot" heat carrier passing in the cavity of the barrier from the active zone to the steam generator, and "cold" heat carrier passing outside the outer shell of the partition from the steam generator through the main circulation pump to the core, increasing the amount of gas leaving the heat carrier into the gas cavity of the nuclear reactor by arranging additional outlet openings.
