FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a composition of blocked isocyanate, a method for production thereof and use thereof in aminoplast resins for wood composite materials. Said composition is obtained by adding alkylene carbonate to blocked isocyanate (A). Blocked isocyanate (A) is obtained by reacting a secondary amine (a1) and a reaction product (a2) between a polyfunctional isocyanate and a monofunctional hydroxyl-containing compound. Monofunctional hydroxyl-containing compound is a polyethylene oxide polymer containing a terminal hydroxyl group. Proportion of blocked isocyanate (A) in weight percent of the blocked isocyanate composition ranges from 50 to 90. Proportion of the monofunctional hydroxyl-containing compound in weight percent of the reaction product (a2) is between 40 and 90. Alkylene carbonate is represented by propylene carbonate or butyl carbonate. Secondary amine (a1) is diisopropylamine, dimethylpyrazole or a mixture thereof. Polyfunctional isocyanate is a MDI polymer compound or a mixture of MDI isomers or a mixture thereof.
EFFECT: obtained composition is stable at room temperature when mixed with compounds containing an active hydrogen atom, is characterized by low viscosity and after deblocking demonstrates potential to reduce levels of free formaldehyde in formaldehyde-containing resins.
