CURABLE COMPOSITION CONTAINING POLYISOCYANATE COMPOSITION Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC C08G18/00 C08G18/22 C08G18/32 C08G18/58 C08G18/79 C08G59/40 C08L75/00

Abstract RU 2584948 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a stable polyisocyanate composition, method of producing said composition, curable composition which employs a stable polyisocyanate composition under present invention, a method of making said curable composition, polyisocyanurate material made or obtained from such a curable composition and method for manufacturing such polyisocyanurate materials. Described is a curable composition which is stable at up to 40 °C and is suitable for making polyisocyanurate-containing material by facilitating interaction of said curable composition at high temperature higher than 50 °C and more preferably greater than 80 °C, said curable composition is obtained by combining and mixing: a polyisocyanate composition including a compound containing group having a structure-CO-NH-CO-, in such an amount that ratio of-CO-NH-CO-groups to number of isocyanate groups is not more than 1 , preferably not more than 0.01, more preferably not more than 0.0015, and lithium halide-and-urea compound, having average molecular weight 500-15,000 and optionally containing biuret group and-epoxy resin, where number of moles of lithium halide per isocyanate equivalent is changed in range of 0.0001-0.04, and number of urea equivalents + biuret per isocyanate equivalent is changed in range of 0.0001-0.4, and number of epoxy equivalents per isocyanate equivalent varies within range of 0.003-1. Disclosed is use of said polyisocyanate composition to prolong shelf life of curable polyisocyanate composition. Also disclosed is a method of producing a curable composition by combining and mixing said polyisocyanate composition, lithium halide and urea compound, and epoxy resin, where number of moles of lithium halide per isocyanate equivalent is changed in range of 0.0001-0.04, and number of urea equivalents + biuret per isocyanate equivalent is changed in range of 0.0001-0.4, and number of epoxy equivalents per isocyanate equivalent varies within range of 0.003-1. Invention describes polyisocyanurate-containing material made by interaction of said curable composition at high temperature of more than 50 °C and more preferably higher than 80 °C, and method of producing polyisocyanurate-containing material by reacting curable composition according to pp. 1-12 at an elevated temperature above 50 ºC, and most preferably above 80 ºC.

EFFECT: technical result is improved shelf life of cured material.
