METHOD OF PRODUCING POLYMER POLYOL Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC C08L71/08 C08L35/06 C08G18/48 C08G18/63

Abstract RU 2713651 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a continuous method of producing a polymer polyol. Said method involves mixing a fused thermoplastic copolymer of styrene and acrylonitrile with a polyol in the presence of a stabilizer. Polyol has an average OH number between 25 and 100 mg KOH/g and an average functionality between 2.5 and 4. Stabilizer contains from 10 to 70 wt. % polyol P2, selected from polyether polyols with molecular weight of 2000–5000 g/mol and polyol of the comb structure, which is a product of macromer, styrene and acrylonitrile reaction in P2. Said macromer is a reaction product of 1,1-dimethylmethanisopropenylbenzylisocyanate with trifunctional polyether polyol. At the first stage, thermoplastic copolymer, the polyol and stabilizer are fed into an extruder to obtain a dispersion, the dispersion is then fed into a rotary-stator device, after passage of rotors and stators, dispersion is cooled below glass transition temperature of thermoplastic copolymer of styrene and acrylonitrile to temperature equal to or less than 60 °C.

EFFECT: polymer polyol obtained using said method has small average particle size and similar particles, as well as low viscosity.
