FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of ion-exchange sorbents. Disclosed is a method of producing a clarifying ion-exchange sorbent in form of granules. Method involves polycondensation of a reaction mixture containing phenol, formaldehyde, hexamethylenetetramine in the presence of sulfuric acid and ethylene glycol and its thermosetting. According to the method, ethylene glycol and hexamethylene teramine are charged into the reactor, the mixture is heated to 50 °C and stirred until complete homogeneity; phenol is added to the homogeneous mixture to obtain a clear solution. Sulfuric acid is added to the obtained solution, avoiding a temperature increase higher than 50 °C, then paraformaldehyde is added to solution, sodium or potassium salt of oleic acid is added, stirring is performed at 50 °C to formation of granules with size of 1–4 mm. Granules are washed with water and heat treated at 105–110 °C.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a granular form of the sorbent while avoiding uncontrolled polymerisation.
