FIELD: soil or rock drilling; mining.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a device for extracting a hydrocarbon-rich stream from a well-formation system and a method of extracting hydrocarbons from a well-formation system. Device for extraction of hydrocarbon-rich flow from well-formation system comprises downhole drum separator located in well-formation system and made for production from well fluid obtained from production zone, hydrocarbon-rich flow and first water stream; electric submersible pump located in the well-to-reservoir system and functionally connected to the downhole drum separator, where electric submersible pump is made for movement of hydrocarbon-rich flow to ground surface; surface separator located on the ground surface and functionally connected to the electric submersible pump, wherein surface separator is made for production of oil flow and second water flow from hydrocarbon-rich flow; and a hydraulic motor arranged in the well-formation system and functionally connected to the downhole drum separator. Hydraulic motor is configured to drive downhole drum separator using working fluid. Working fluid contains a hydrocarbon-rich flow or a second water stream.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of separation.
