FIELD: oil production.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to measure the length of a string of long bodies, in particular tubing lowered into an oil well during technological works performed in it. A device for measuring the length of a string of pipes lowered into the well includes a winch drum mounted on the frame of the lifting unit, a wireline wound on the winch drum and connected through a system of rollers with a hook block, while the rollers are located on the mast of the lifting unit, a displacement sensor electrically connected with measuring block. Metal marks are placed on the winch drum of the lifting unit. The displacement sensor is designed to collect information about the “position of the hook block” parameter and transfer it to the measuring unit and consists of two proximity switches of the inductive type installed on the frame of the lifting unit in such a way that the distance between the proximity switches and metal marks during the rotation of the winch drum is 3-5 mm. At the same time, a force sensor is installed at the fixed end of the tackle rope, which is configured to transmit readings to the measuring unit for calculating the “weight on the hook” parameter. The measuring unit is configured to process the parameters "weight on the hook" and "position of the hook block" and calculate the length of each pipe, taking into account the distance traveled by the hook block from the moment the threshold value of the "weight on the hook" parameter is exceeded until the moment the value of the specified parameter goes below the threshold.
EFFECT: increased accuracy and reliability of the measurement results, measuring the rope tension when opening/closing the spider and eliminating the possibility of premature switching of the pipe length calculation mode.
