FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a boiler with a gas and earthquake detection function, as well as a control method thereof. Boiler with gas and earthquake detection function comprises housing intended for fuel supply and flame generation; fuel cut-off unit receiving cut-off signal to stop fuel supply into housing; gas sensor located in housing, with possibility of gas detection and generation of gas detection signal; seismological sensor located in the housing, capable of detecting an earthquake and generating an earthquake detection signal; gas concentration detector receiving gas detection signal from gas sensor to determine gas concentration; an earthquake intensity determiner receiving a signal from the seismic sensor to determine earthquake intensity; controller which transmits cut-off signal to fuel cut-off unit in accordance with gas concentration or earthquake intensity determined by gas concentration determiner or earthquake intensity detector, and an input unit for performing the sampling period input to the controller, wherein the controller is configured to set an allowable range of gas concentration or earthquake intensity, wherein said possibility is provided by accumulating corresponding values of gas concentrations or earthquake intensity determined by corresponding gas concentration detector or earthquake intensity, during the sampling period introduced by the input unit, and transmitting the cut-off signal to the fuel cut-off unit when the gas concentration or the earthquake intensity falls, respectively, beyond the allowable range of concentrations at the end of the sampling period.
