FIELD: fire safety.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fire safety of buildings and a method for constructive fire protection of a cast-iron tower support. Elements of structural fire protection are attached tightly to load bearing rod of support. Gray iron grade, intensity of stresses in cross-section of load-bearing rod of cast-iron support and critical temperature of cast iron heating are determined as per the sign of thermal strength destruction of building support. Thickness of the structural fire protection is predetermined considering the thermophysical properties of its materials and the heating conditions of the bearing rod of the cast-iron support in case of fire of the specified duration.

EFFECT: high reliability of fastening structural fire protection, high limit of fire resistance of cast-iron support, reduced risk of collapse of cast-iron supports of building in initial stage of fire.
