FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the process of electric arc welding of parts from carbon-graphite materials and can be used in electrical engineering, chemical, aerospace, nuclear and other industries. Disclosed is a method of electric arc welding of carbon-graphite articles, in which along the interface of the welded parts a concentration of carbon vapor is created, which is necessary and sufficient to form a "welding bath" on the surface of the parts being welded, providing formation of welded seam at electrode movement and excitation of electric arc along interface of welded parts of product. Preliminary adjustment of process technological parameters is carried out, for which optical radiation of welding arc is fixed, converting it into a spectrum and by spectral lines using an electrophotometric method, determining radiation intensities in the presence zones (IC) and absence (IO) of carbon vapor lines, obtaining processing values of their photo-EMF (UC) and (UO), respectively, and their ratio Di=ICi/IOi≡UCi/UOi, where i is number of iteration from 1 to N. Thereafter, at least one technological parameter is changed, and (i+1)-th current parameter of optical radiation of welding arc is used to define ratio Di+1=IC(i+1)/IO(i+1)≡UC(i+1)/UO(i+1) its photo EMF. Then successive values Di and Di+1, and with Di+1>Di or Di+1<Di cycle of preliminary adjustment of process parameters is repeated until the value |Di+1-Di|<δ, where δ ~ 2 %, which characterizes production of stable weld. As technological parameters use arc current, interelectrode distance and shielding gas pressure. Achievement of stable weld is determined by criteria of strength and/or gas density. Invention also discloses a device for implementation of method.
EFFECT: higher quality of weld.
