FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of determining moment of inertia of electric motors during their tests. Essence of invention consists in fact that at end of output shaft of asynchronous electric motor are alternately installed two discs (first and second) of same weight, but with different known reference moments of inertia, and the moment of inertia of the asynchronous electric motor is defined as the ratio of the product of the angular acceleration of the rotating mass system "the first disc with the reference moment of inertia, asynchronous electric motor" to difference of moments of inertia of first and second discs with reference moments of inertia to difference of angular acceleration of system of rotating masses "second disc with reference moment of inertia, asynchronous electric motor" and angular acceleration of system of rotating masses "second disc with reference moment of inertia, asynchronous electric motor" minus moment of inertia of second disc with reference moment of inertia.
EFFECT: improving measurement accuracy of inertia moment of asynchronous electric motor using discs with reference moments of inertia.
